Jamiroquai (J.k)

Todo comenzó cuando Jay Kay se presento a una audición para cantante de la banda Brand New Heavies, y no tuvo exito. Al tiempo decidió formar su propia banda y llamarla Jamiroquai con la cual grabaron su primer sencillo, llamado When You Gonna Learn? (grabado en 1989) salió al mercado en 1992 en el sello Acid Jazz.
A partir del éxito de este sencillo la banda firmó un contrato con la casa disquera Sony para grabar 8 álbumes. Al poco tiempo lanzan su primer disco, el cual llamaron Emergency on Planet Earth, grabado en el año 1993 en el cual las letras de conciencia social combinadas con los ritmos Jazz, Funk y Acid jazz le generaron un éxito inmediato, llegando así al primer lugar de las listas de ventas en el Reino Unido por 3 semanas seguidas, en este álbum podemos escuchar canciones como ya la antes mencionada When You Gonna Learn?, Emergency on Planet Earth y Blow Your Mind y Too Young To Die. Como dato anecdotico este disco tuvo 2 sencillos cancelados , que son If I Like It, I Do It y Revolution 1993, por motivos que aun no se conocen.
Luego del éxito del primer disco, en 1994 sale al mercado The Return of the Space Cowboy, con un sonido más Funk y Acid jazz que otros discos dejando un poco de lado la musica instrumental, y con letras del mismo estilo de su disco anterior. Este disco tuvo tanta fama como el álbum anterior, pero no alcanzo a llegar al primer lugar en ventas en el Reino Unido, pero logro el segundo puesto en ventas. Para muchos fans es la obra maestra de Jamiroquai. El CD tiene estilos muy variados como por ejemplo: Acid jazz, Funk, Jazz, Downtempo, Soul y R&B.
